An owner’s basis in their entity interest is a key tax metric and is often miscalculated or not calculated. Calculating the basis for a partnership interest, S corporation stock, and C corporation will be reviewed in detail. There will also be a discussion of reconstructing entity basis when proper records or schedules were not maintained.
